IPAC Vancouver and the First Nations Public Service Secretariat (FNPSS) are pleased to be continuing its partnership with the First Nations Public Service Secretariat (FNPSS). IPAC and FNPSS are building a sustained and collaborative partnership focused on excellence in public service. Under our emerging partnership, IPAC Vancouver and FNPSS have agreed to focus on areas of common interest by sharing research, experience, information and skills. In March 2018, Lisa Nye and Alyssa Melnyk from IPAC Vancouver attended the FNPSS Conference 2018 on Musqueam territory in Richmond BC. The Conference, coordinated and hosted by FNPSS, was intended to seek feedback from BC First Nation communities and leadership on its activities and priorities moving forward. With its renewed mandate, FNPSS is working with IPAC Vancouver to undertake activities involving sharing research, collaborating on workshops, and developing tools together. Lisa and Alyssa contributed to the Conference by leading a workshop on policy development for participants, and Lisa joined representatives from other FNPSS partner organizations on a plenary discussion panel. You can watch this panel discussion, and all other plenary speakers, at the Conference on the FNPSS website: www.fnps.ca. IPAC and FNPSS both believe that all governments share many common objectives, most notably excellence in public administration and delivery of successful services on behalf of their citizens. IPAC and FNPSS are excited to work together to support First Nation governments to achieve these goals for the betterment of their communities. IPAC and FNPSS are working on developing an annual action plan to implement the MOU which include collaboration on workshops, conference participation, research and learning opportunities.
